Miriam Diamond

Miriam Diamond is a professor at the University of Toronto in the Dept of Earth Sciences, with cross-appointments to Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, the Dalla Lana Faculty of Public Health, the School for the Environment and Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences at Scarborough. She was named Canadian Environmental Scientist of the Year in 2007 by the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. Diamond was Co-chair of Ontario’s Toxics Reduction Scientific Expert Panel and the Living List Panel, is a member of the federal Chemical Management Plan Science Committee and is an associated editor of Environmental Science and Technology, a leading journal in the field. Her research investigates chemical contaminants from sources and emissions through to environmental transport and human and ecosystem exposure and effects.
