Making the Links: Environmental Health, Equity & the Law Workshops
The Canadian Environmental Law Association and the Environmental Health Institute of Canada invite you to register for a "Making the Links: Environmental Law and Health” workshop. Workshops are being presented in: Kenora, Hamilton, Cornwall, Sarnia, Brantford and Windsor. These unique workshops will provide an opportunity for medical professionals, legal professionals, community service providers, academics, and community activists to review the resources which have been developed in the course of the 3-year Making the Links Project, including the Legal Toolkit and Resource Kit. Participants will have an opportunity to explore the various legal tools accessible to them and participate in a discussion on how to employ these tools in their communities. They will receive an introduction into community organizing concepts and techniques, and will be introduced to their community-specific Resource Kit. Finally, participants will be invited to continue to work collaboratively on the intersection between environmental health and law. Please note that lunch will be provided.
These FREE workshops are part of a larger interdisciplinary outreach project undertaken with funding from the Law Foundation of Ontario. It is focused on environmental law and access to justice issues in six Ontario communities (Kenora, Hamilton, Cornwall, Sarnia, Brantford and Windsor). These communities were chosen, in part, because of the presence of high pollution burdens and incidences of environmental health issues, and high percentages of sensitive populations.
See attached tentative agenda, and below for event details.
