First Nations Governance and Environmental Issues

Collection of materials by CELA on this issue

CELA has undertaken legal representation for First Nations communities, primarily based in Ontario, for many years. Staff have considerable knowledge about the constitutional and other legal issues that arise with respect to First Nations governance of matters having to do with resource development and environmental protection. Within CELA's work addressing the international activities of Canadian mining companies, staff have worked directly with affected First Nations communities.

Below are collected publications, articles and media releases written by CELA staff about first nations' governance issues with respect to environmental protection.
