A six-month comment period began in February of 2012 for the project’s Environmental Impact Statement and Preliminary Safety Report and the panel hearing is expected in late 2012 or early 2013.The proposed facility would receive low and intermediate radioactive wastes from the Bruce, Pickering and Darlingtion nuclear plants. CELA has submitted three rounds of interrogatories, one related to hydrogeology issues and two concerning compliance with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.
